SHINO-API NIC COLLINS
Ahmad Yulden Erwin

Ia letakkan kepalanya
Di samping pasu
Keramik itu dan melangkah
Keluar pintu, seakan samadi
Perlahan ia masuki
Dunia dengan cara berbeda
Kini ia tak ingin pulang
Atau bermimpi, ia hanya ingin
Pergi dan berharap
Akan ada marka
Atau sekilas cahaya
Pada tiap simpang
Yang mungkin akan ia lewati
Namun, ia tak akan mampu
Menatapnya, ia memang
Tak ingin kembali mengetuk
Gerbang kayu ulin itu
Atau membayangkan
Savana tiba-tiba hadir
Di halaman depan rumahmu
Atau sekadar menafsir
Dingin yang di luar jendela
Juga amsal yang tak siap kekal
Seperti bunga api di atas kepalamu

THE FIRE-SHINO OF NIC COLLINS
By Ahmad Yulden Erwin

He lowered his head
Beside the urn
Pottery, and steps
Out of the door, as if in samadhi *)
Slowly he entered
The world in a different way
Now he did not want to go home
Or dreaming, he only wants to
Go and hope
There will be a mark
Or a glimpse of light
At each turn
He might take
Yet, he will not be able to
Looking at it, he
Did not want to go back tapping
The ironwood gate
Or imagine
The Savannah was suddenly there
In the front garden
Or just interpret
Cold things through a window
Likewise, proverbs are not
Eternal
Like a spark
On your head

*) Samadhi: a state of intense concentration achieved through meditation. In yoga this is regarded as the final stage, at which union with the divine is reached.
